Did you know that the Loi sur les normes du travail ("LNT") protects the majority of Québec employees during absences in the event of illness, accident, organ or tissue donation, domestic violence or whether they are full-time or part-time, and that means, among other things, that vacation pay must be calculated on the first 26 weeks of sick leave?

The employer sometimes has the impression that if he does not pay a salary to an employee because he is absent because of illness, he has nothing to pay him, which is FALSE.

To avoid any confusion on this subject, the CNESST has made available to employers a tool for calculating vacations:
